Verify your Facebook business page by Cutting Edge Practice

How To Verify Your Facebook Business Page

Start the year off right!  Do an inventory of your social media sites to ensure that you have claimed and/or verified your social media profiles.  I have already talked about verifying our Google + page.  It was a Google prerequisite for your Google+ page and your Google Maps profile to go live.

I want to remind you that you should also verify your Facebook business page.  Verifying your Facebook business page is easy!  Here are directions on how to verify your Facebook business page.

  1. Log into your Facebook account and navigate to your business page.
  2. Go to Settings > Page Verification > Edit
  3. Follow the prompts.   Facebook will call you immediately, so please verify your page during business hours when someone is available at work to answer your phone.
  4. The Facebook call will give you a verification code that you will type into the space provided on the Facebook computer pop up window.
  5. Voila!  Your page will be verified.

PS>> if this does not work, you can send Facebook a variety of acceptable business documents as a means of verifying your Facebook account ownership including the following list of items.  Just follow the prompts.

  • Business utility or phone bill
  • Business license
  • Business tax file
  • Certificate of formation
  • Articles of incorporation

If you need help verifying your Facebook business page, contact Sharon Kantor Bogetz at Cutting Edge Practice at (847) 370-9131.  Sharon has been doing dental marketing and Internet marketing since 2002!

Begin Your Dental Marketing For November With An End Of The Year Letter

Your dental marketing plan for November should include an End Of The Year letter for your patients.  You should compose and send this letter during the month of November.  There are a variety of ways to send this letter:

  1. Leverage your dental practice management software.  Contact the company you are using for your dental patient communications.  Ask them how you can send an e-blast to all of your patients with valid emails.
  2. Send the letter by U.S. Postal service to those patients without email addresses.  In reality, very few practices have 100% of their patients’ emails.
  3. Use an email marketing service to send an email to your patients.

If you are wondering how to write an “end of the year” letter, here is a list of some topics you might cover in your letter:

  • Thank your patients for their loyalty
  • Send holiday greetings
  • Introduce staff changes
  • Describe new dental equipment added
  • Highlight new dental services added
  • Remind your patients that their insurance benefits will expire
  • Make an end of the year whitening offer
  • Invite patients to start Invisalign to straighten their teeth before New Years

If you need help developing your end of the year letter for your dental patients, contact Sharon Kantor Bogetz at Cutting Edge Practice at 847-370-9131.  She has been helping dentists with their dental marketing since 2002.

Final Push for Back To School

Back to school campaign | Cutting Edge Practice | Dental marketingFor many dental practices, the summer is one of the busiest times of the year.  Students are going back to college and children need school examinations before they enter Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades.  Parents are looking for a way to get their children in for a check-up before the school year begins.

If you want to attract new patients to your practice, a Back To School campaign is an ideal opportunity for you to increase your numbers and fill your schedule.  You still have time for a back to school campaign!  Use the Internet to do a dental marketing blitz in August.

I suggest that dentists engage in a minimum of 4 different marketing initiatives every month.  August is a perfect time to invite patients back into the practice and to invite new patients and new movers into your office.

6 Back To School ideas for your dental marketing campaign on-line and in print:

  1.  Create an Email marketing campaign targeting your current patient base.
  2.  Create a Google Adwords campaign specifically for your Back To School offer.
  3. Create a Facebook post with your Back To School offer and boost it to the surrounding areas.
  4. Create a blog entry promoting your Back To School offer.
  5. Create a door to door campaign with a door hanger marketing piece.
  6. Contact area pre-schools and ask if you can send home your marketing piece with their students.

PS… Don’t forget to meet with your staff to explain the new patient offer you are using in your Back To School Campaign before it launches.  You want them to have the verbal skills to support your marketing efforts.

If you want help with your dental marketing campaign, call Sharon Kantor Bogetz, MBA, MEd at (847) 370-9131 or contact her by email. She has been assisting dentists with their dental marketing and branding since 2002.

What is AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)?

AMP | Accelerated Mobile Pages | Dental BlogAMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages, the newest Google answer to the explosion of mobile users. This article serves as an introduction to this new website construct.

You, like every other online user of mobile phones, dislike the frustrating experience of waiting for a website that loads slowly. In fact, you probably won’t ever revisit s website that takes too long to render its web content.

This scenario equally harms the website owner when users click away from your site, resulting in increased bounce rates and decreased chances to show the visitor your great content. An overloaded, slow website is a new problem that needs a simple and elegant solution.

Fortunately, Google, in collaboration with many different partners like Twitter and LinkedIn, has brought an innovative tool to implement and ensure beautifully streamlined, rapid fast content web pages free from all the extra clutter. It is Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) that focuses on creating a smooth, more engaging mobile experience for the end user. It dramatically improves the functionality of mobile sites on the web with instant browsing.

The AMP project is an open-source initiative allowing users, publishers, developers and platforms that stand behind it, to participate, collaborate and benefit from it. It enables you to create websites that are consistently beautiful, high-performing and fast across different devices and distribution platforms. Also, it empowers website owners to present their content with an improved user engagement and a fast, compelling experience on any device they what to use.

AMP pages are created with three core components, viz. AMP HTML for reliable performance, AMP JS for the swift provision of AMP HTML pages, and Google AMP Cache to serve cached AMP HTML pages.

If you would like to use AMP, contact Sharon Kantor Bogetz at Cutting Edge Practice at (847) 370-9131 or send her an email. She has been working with dental websites, internet dental marketing and dental SEO since 2002.  Give her a call!

  1. Website content – Content is still king! – Make sure your website has unique content that is written for people and not computers to read.
  2. External links pointing to your website – This takes into consideration the number of qualified websites linked to your website.
  3. RankBrain – RankBrain is the name of the artificial intelligence (AI) that is now being employed in every search and in Google’s algorithm.   Here is a link to a great article published in June 2016 that explains RankBrain in detail.

During this presentation, Andrey from Google also confirmed that having a mobile friendly website is also a “ranking signal”.  Listen to the entire presentation….

What are the benefits of a mobile friendly dental website?

mobile friendly dental website - Sharon Kantor Bogetz | Cutting Edge Practice

Google announced that it would be changing its algorithm to factor in website mobile friendly website design on April 21, 2015.  The industry called this ominous date “Mobilegeddon.”   This will potentially affect every website on the internet!   Its no longer enough just to have a website, you must have a dental website that is mobile friendly be be relevant on-line.

Google posted their help website for developers if you are interested in learning more.    Building a website on a WordPress blog platform is the easiest solution moving forward.    Websites built on their blog platform will be mobile friendly.

There are a variety of benefits to making the investment in a new mobile friendly dental website in 2015.  Here are a few that you should consider.

4 Benefits To A Mobile Friendly Dental Website

  1. Better website visitor experience –  Patients who visit a mobile friendly website won’t have to squint to see the tiny version of your website.  They won’t have to adjust the size of the image until they can tap on one of your tiny navigation buttons to open up a new page.   The text, photos and graphics will be enlarged automatically and readjust to their tablet or smart phone.
  2. Improved search engine results – Because Google has added this requirement to it’s search engine algorithm, your website will be penalized if it is not mobile friendly.  Having a separate mobile friendly version of your dental website should only be considered a temporary solution.  Google stated:  “This improvement in crawling efficiency can indirectly help Google index more of your site’s content and keep it appropriately fresh.”
  3. Faster website loading speed – Search engines will not have to redirect the visitor from your old website to a separate mobile version of your website.  This redirection increases website load times.
  4. Competitive advantage over other local dental websites – Having a mobile friendly site will send a signal to your website visitors that your practice is up to date.  Most of your local dentists will not invest in a new mobile ready website.

Sharon Kantor Bogetz, MBA, MEd, partner at Cutting Edge Practice and her team of website designers will create a mobile friendly dental website for you.   We also help dentists re-design websites in this new format.  Call Sharon to discuss your options at (847) 370-9131.   Sharon and her website design team have created more than 50 dental websites!
